The concentration of the tribal population in the Khunti district is very high. Khunti district is predominantly inhabited by Munda tribes, who are surrounded by rich agroforestry resources yet exhibit high levels of malnutrition. Food security is a pressing concern for most families in the area. Many indigenous foods are highly nutritious, but their consumption is declining. This grant supports the reduction of malnutrition by supporting the increased consumption of indigenous foods.

Challenging NRPF and minimising its impactThe Unity Project TUP
The Unity Project (TUP) works to support people affected by the ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF) policy, to remove the NRPF condition from their leave to remain status. They run weekly casework sessions, provide appointments and workshops for people with NRPF to help make ‘Change of Conditions’ applications and pursue lasting policy change and strategic litigation. This grant provides core funding to support TUP to develop their systems and processes.
