Website accessibility
Our commitment
We believe our website should be accessible to as many people as possible. To that end, we will continually make changes to our website to improve the accessibility of our content. This is an unending objective for us and one we will work towards with guidance from disabled people and best practice from the sector.
We don’t want barriers in our application process to prevent anyone from applying for funding. If our application process is inaccessible to you on account of disability or impairment, we have an access support bursary. This is financial support for reasonable adjustments you might require when applying for our funding.
Adapting your website experience
There might be specific changes you want to make on your device or browser to enhance your website experience. This can include increasing the magnification on a page or changing colour contrast. AbilityNet’s resource ‘My Computer My Way’ can give you more information on how to make these adaptations.
How we’re making our website accessible
Like many other organisations, our website is designed according to W3C’s standards, who publish Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Our website has been designed to meet a minimum of AA compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. We do believe this is a minimum and know there are key areas where we need to improve our accessibility.
Known accessibility issues
Known accessibility issues
We have a large historical archive of publications, many of which are in a PDF format. These vary in how accessible they are, depending on how they were originally created.
These publications contain important information but are inconsistent in how well they can be interpreted by assistive technologies. We are committed to providing more alternative formats for publications we create in the future so this content is more accessible.
Feedback and questions
If you have feedback on the accessibility of our website or any questions about getting content in a different format, please get in touch.
