RadHR
About RadHR
RadHR believes that if we are serious about changing systems of power in wider society, we must also be serious about changing the ways those systems show up within our groups and organisations. They offer a free, open and collaborative resource built by community, activist and nonprofit organisations and collectives to share radical, caring and liberatory internal policies and processes with one another. The RadHR library enables members of the community to upload their own policies for others to adapt and use, making it easier for groups doing their ‘internal’ work differently, to learn from and build on each other’s work.
The RadHR Community Forum provides members with a space to request specific policies, ask questions about how different policies have worked in practice, and offer their own insights from practical experiences of trying to make and implement policies in ways that align with more progressive or radical values. Their website also includes: guides to developing specific types of common policies from a more progressive perspective; workshop templates to help groups collectively prioritise, develop and adapt internal policies; and blogs where members of the community can share more detailed perspectives from their own ‘radical HR’ journeys.
Additionally, RadHR does participatory research projects, hosts online and in-person events and takes on occasional pieces of bespoke facilitation and consultancy to support collective policy-making processes in groups.
The development of the original idea for RadHR was funded through PHF’s Ideas and Pioneers Fund. This grant supported the building of their website, content development, and testing through outreach, focus groups and interviews with prospective users. In 2025, RadHR was announced as one of PHF’s Backbone grant holders, securing core funding for up to five years. Our Backbone Fund supports organisations who are working to strengthen civil society as whole, often carrying out key infrastructure functions – like capacity building, policy and advocacy, influencing, networking and research. By providing shared services and networks, they bring organisations and communities together and strengthen their collective voice and impact.
