Diverse Voices in Public PolicySocial Equity Centre CIC
The Social Equity Centre is a not-for-profit expert consultancy provider that aims to narrow the gap for under-represented voices and build a more equal society where everyone feels heard and included. This grant provides core funding, increasing their capacity to keep abreast with changes such as immigration system and local government policy. It will also support The Social Equity Centre to explore and research the need for representation in the public sector for marginalised groups, and develop practical solutions and interventions to ensure that gaps are filled.

Building Black leadershipSocial Change Initiative
Social Change Initiative (SCI) provide practical support, services and strategic advice to maximise the impact of donor funding for change, working to provide a bridge between the worlds of activism and philanthropy. This grant supports SCI to bring together a panel of Black activist leaders to oversee the design and implementation of their leadership programme and the selection of participants. The programme includes residential sessions, one-to-one mentoring (from Black mentors) and the opportunity of a mini-Fellowship for both self-development and issue exploration purposes.

Right to Remain (formerly known as the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns) is a human rights membership organisation which works with groups across the UK to promote and defend the rights of people seeking the right to remain in the UK. This grant supports the implementation of their new strategy and Theory of Change, made up of three interconnected stages: building knowledge, radical solidarity and power.

Increasing opportunity through staff recruitmentKanlungan Filipino Consortium
Kanlungan Filipino Consortium (Kanlungan) is a registered charity consisting of several Filipino community organisations working together for the welfare and interests of the Filipino and other migrant communities in Britain. Their work is focused on the promotion and protection of migrant rights and welfare by providing mental health and wellbeing support, skills training, immigration and employment advice, campaigns, and advocacy. This grant will support recruitment of additional staff, affording Kanlungan more opportunities to communicate and work effectively with statutory bodies, and share their insights into the East and Southeast Asian community.

European Philanthropic Initiative for Migration (EPIM) is Europe’s largest and longest standing philanthropic collaborative working on issues of migration and inclusion. They fund and nurture alliances and partnerships, curate the migration ecosystem and cultivate a shared narrative for belonging and democratic resilience. Following a period of review and learning, EPIM has streamlined their thematic priorities and interventions. This grant will support EPIM to implement their new approach and pathway to change.

Islamophobia and Human Rights in the UK Asylum SystemCommunity Policy Forum
Community Policy Forum seeks to promote evidence-based and community-centred approaches to policymaking surrounding the structural inequalities that face Muslim communities in the UK. This grant will fund additional staffing which will allow them to dedicate more resource to the migration arm of their work, and prioritise long-term projects over reactionary work, laying the foundations for long-lasting social change. Community Policy Forum’s Islamophobia and Human Rights within the UK Asylum System project will be part of this work.

Migrants Organise and British Palestinian Committee PartnershipBritish Palestinian Committee (Partnership Hosted by Migrants Organise)
The British Palestinian Committee are an independent organisation with experience in a range of professional fields including policy, advocacy, human rights, law, academia, journalism, arts and culture. They work primarily in the policy advocacy arena to ensure that Palestinian experience and expertise are integral to British policy-making towards Palestine and Palestinians in the UK. This grant supports a joint project between the British Palestinian Committee and Migrants Organise, providing resources for a bilingual caseworker to support Palestinians immediately and help develop the community’s longer-term capacity to respond to Palestinians’ needs in the UK.

Tackling destitution – reducing systemic factors and increasing justiceAsylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP)
Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP) aims to reduce destitution by protecting the legal rights to food and shelter of those seeking asylum. They provide free legal representation for those appealing against a refusal of asylum support, and train organisations in asylum support law. With this grant ASAP will strengthen civic participation through convening people with lived experience of asylum support, the refugee sector and the advice sector to influence key immigration policies, improve access to support services and advocate for greater access to support.

The Refugee and Migrant Policy (RAMP) Project helps political leaders to think more deeply and to collaborate more widely on migration, asylum and integration issues to improve the quality and quantity of political debate and subsequent policy outcomes. This grant supports RAMP’s core work, including their role as Secretary of the APPG on Migration to develop shared recommendations for action.
