James Lingwood
Chair
James is the Chair of our board of trustees.
James is active in the field of contemporary art as a curator, producer and writer. He was Co-Director of Artangel with Michael Morris, between 1991 and 2022, which produces ‘extraordinary art in unexpected places in London, across the UK, and around the world’.
He has also curated a number of exhibitions for arts institutions internationally, including the Tate, Museo Nacional Reina Sofia in Madrid, Palazzo Grassi, Venice, Fondation Beyeler, Basel, Jeu de Paume, Paris and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul.
James has been a trustee of PHF since 2003 and became Chair in December 2025.
