Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society – Invitation to Tender to Provide the Secretariat

Paul Hamlyn Foundation is part of a group of seven leading independent funders, the Baring Foundation, the Barrow Cadbury Trust, the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Lankelly Chase, the Lloyds Bank Foundation and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK Branch), which have come together to fund an Independent Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society. We all feel that the time is right for a forward looking, searching and broad look at the potential for civil society’s contribution over the next decade or more. We are delighted that Julia Unwin has agreed to Chair the Inquiry when she steps down from her role as Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation at the end of this year.

We now need to appoint a Secretariat of the highest quality for this important initiative. Tenders are invited by 19th September. They should be sent to the Baring Foundation, the lead funder and co-ordinator of the funder’s group. See full details of the brief here.
