Refugees Family Reunion Bill

Supporting young people who migrate and strengthening integration in communities is particularly important to Paul Hamlyn Foundation. The Refugees Family Reunion Bill presents an opportunity for parliamentarians to step forward and support people to stay together and for young people who migrate to have the support of their families as they make the difficult transition to adapt to a new home, culture and community.

A number of the grantees that we work with support young people who have fled difficult circumstances, escaped danger and hardship and like all children want to be able to call on the support of their families to help them.

Moira Sinclair, Chief Executive, commented:

“We are delighted with today’s second-reading vote which will give more children and young people the chance to call on their closest family to live with them here in the UK. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the many organisations, individuals and artists that have lent their support to the #FamiliesTogether campaign.”
