2011 Awards for Artists announced

The recipients of the 2011 PHF Awards for Artists were announced last night at a reception at the Royal Institute of British Architects. Three composers and five visual artists will receive £45,000 over the next three years in support of their practice.

The recipients are:

Visual Arts:

  • Janice Kerbel
  • Amalia Pica
  • John Smith
  • Sue Tompkins
  • Rose Wylie

Composers:

  • John Butcher
  • Larry Goves
  • Matt Rogers

The awards were announced by guest speaker Tom Service, the broadcaster and journalist, who made a speech in which he discussed creativity and arts funding:
