The trustees of Paul Hamlyn Foundation have agreed to offer an uplift to the outstanding payments of many of our funded organisations, to help meet increased costs.

Charities across the UK are facing tough decisions as the cost of living crisis bites. The trustees of Paul Hamlyn Foundation have agreed to offer a 10% uplift to the outstanding payments of many of our funded organisations, who would have budgeted for work before the full extent of inflationary increases were known. Where we are making this offer, we will be in touch in early December to confirm the arrangement of the uplift.

The uplift will not apply to grants awarded from October 2022 onwards, as we encourage new applicants to plan and cost their activity taking into account the changing context. We know that many other funders are looking at what additional support they can provide and we hope everyone in our sector will do what they can to respond, although the scale and complexity of the challenge we face mean that private funders can only do so much, and we hope government can ensure the charitable sector is supported alongside business in the face of rising costs and rising demand.
