Paul Hamlyn Foundation announces senior appointments
We are pleased to announce that Liz Winder and Paula Gay are joining the senior leadership team at Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF) in September.
Abdou is currently Deputy Director of partnerships at the National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF). He brings considerable grant-making experience having led strategic collaborations with other funders at regional and national level. He also played a significant role in driving the organisation’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion agenda. Before moving to TNLCF, Abdou was at the Children’s Society for 12 years leading on the development of services aimed at marginalised children and young people across Yorkshire. He was also a trustee director at PAFRAS (Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers).
Moira Sinclair, Chief Executive, Paul Hamlyn Foundation said: “At Paul Hamlyn Foundation, we are guided by our vision of a just society in which everyone, especially young people, can realise their full potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives. But equally important is our stated intention to be an effective and independent funder. The way in which we partner and the need to address inequalities in philanthropy and in wider society are to the forefront. Abdou brings a wealth of experience which is very relevant to our grant-making, and a breadth of perspective which will help us to improve our practice and drive forward change we want to support. We’re all very much looking forward to welcoming him in the autumn.”
“I feel privileged and proud to be joining Paul Hamlyn Foundation at such a pivotal moment. I am particularly inspired by the organisation’s commitment to become anti-racist and openness to reimagine its grant making practices. I look forward to working with Moira, my new colleagues and our board of trustees on the next phase of PHF’s journey”.
