Paul Hamlyn Foundation appoints new Director

Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF) has appointed of Faiza Khan as Director of Policy and Communications.

We are very pleased to announce that Faiza Khan will be joining PHF from 12 Sept as our Director of Policy and Communications. She brings to us experience from her current role as Programme Director at the Involve Foundation where she led NHS Citizen, a national citizen engagement programme that has empowered people to influence decision making with the NHS England Board. She was previously Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Policy and Communications at the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services, supporting the largest network of youth organisations in the country to have a stronger voice, and prior to that, worked in local government to shape services for children, young people and communities.

In 2014, Faiza received an MBE for services to young people and was shortlisted for the RBS Asian Women of Achievement Awards. She has been a trustee of the End Child Poverty Campaign.

Faiza said: “I am so pleased to be joining PHF and look forward to sharing the many powerful stories that the grantees make happen every day.  I hope to work with the Foundation’s stakeholders to showcase how good grant making can make a difference to society through addressing inequality, supporting innovation and helping people to achieve great things.”

Moira Sinclair, Chief Executive of Paul Hamlyn Foundation, said: “I am delighted that Faiza has agreed to join PHF. This is an important role for us. We have a commitment to social justice and we want to do more to support our grantees to influence and shape policy thinking and to share their responses to the sort of social and sectoral challenges we all face. Faiza will bring a breadth of knowledge and experience to help us to achieve that aim.”
