New strategy launch

We are delighted to announce our new strategy. Our work in the UK will now focus on achieving six strategic priorities.

• We want to support imaginative people to nurture exciting ideas
• We want to widen access and participation in the arts
• We want to improve people’s education and learning through the arts
• We want to show that arts makes a difference to people’s lives
• We want to support the development and growth of organisations investing in young people and positive change
• We want to improve support for young people who migrate, and strengthen integration so that communities can live well together

We will be spending £25m per year in support of organisations and individuals working towards these goals.

We have designed new funds, some of which are open now, to help organisations and individuals to work towards these aims. We are also continuing with many of our existing programmes.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation Director, Moira Sinclair said:

“Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s mission remains ambitious and has never been more relevant. At a time of continued austerity and significant social and economic challenges, trusts and foundations can play a vital role in supporting innovation, and backing people with game-changing ideas, as well as providing long-term support and funding. Most importantly our focus must be on helping people, especially young people, overcome disadvantage and realise their full potential.”

The strategy is the culmination of a review of our work, taking into account feedback from a consultation exercise, reflections on our previous work and conversations with grantees and the wider sectors where we operate.
