Artists survey on participatory practice

The Foundation’s ArtWorks initiative is inviting artists to provide feedback on their work in participatory settings.

A survey has been created to get a better understanding of artists’ roles in, and perceptions of, the participatory art sector. It is hoped that the results will enable us to develop a clearer focus on how best to adapt our approach and where to allocate funding.

ArtWorks was established in 2011 as a PHF Arts programme Special Initiative to find new ways to improve art practice in participatory settings. By supporting artists in their professional development, it aims to enhance people’s quality of engagement with art. We want to achieve recognition of the value for art and public life of participatory work and create a more secure sector.

Assessing impact is an integral part of the project as it gives a clearer idea of what constitutes good practice in these settings.

The survey will run until Wednesday 19 February and is open to practising artists of all art forms who engage with participatory work at any level. It should take 10-15 minutes to complete.
